Steady-state Measurements of Ternary Mixtures in Thermogravitational Microcolumn Using Optical Digital Interferometry

Steady-state measurements in a thermogravitational microcolumn using optical digital interferometry are presented here for the first time literature case of ternary mixtures. These enabled subsequent obtaining thermodiffusion coefficients mixture once convection reaches steady-state. The used was benchmark one, tetrahydronaphthalene (THN) – isobutylbenzene (IBB) and n-dodecane (nC12) with mass fraction 0.8-0.1-0.1 respectively. Contrast factors due to change concentration field were measured compared corresponding ones literature. Uncertainty results found be similar order magnitude as Selectable Optical Diagnostic Instrument (SODI), which means that condition number contrast factor matrix is almost equal present one. Final values reported from other techniques, well obtained by traditional long opaque columns (TGC). Some proposals then made improve accuracy reducing matrix.
